There is not a thing wrong with the set up you have already been shown infact those are good quality parts at a good price, however you said you wanted all of the "all ford parts" options and there are a few that have been missed. There are setups that uses newer parts for beter performance and less drag. MustangSteve of www.MustangSteve.com sell 13" cobra front disc brake brackets and which utilize the original spindles with the newer parts.
http://www.mustangsteve.com/cobrabrake_left_close.JPG
Ultrastang of www.ultrastang.com sell rear Cobra disc brake brackets as well as SN95 rear GT disc brak brackets that will bolt up to an original 8" or 9" rear end

and I DazeCars of www.dazecars.com sell Ford SN95 dual piston aluminum caliper GT disc brake brackets that use 99-04 calipers and 94-04 11"rotors and your cars original spindle and hub.

can your sn95 brackets be used with the cobra brakes too? it is my understatnding that on 94-04 GT's you can just swap the Cobra brakes on them, so you bracket would theoretically work right?

also, if i buy your brakets and use the GT brakes, i will keep my drums on the rear. I was thinking I could use a MC from a fox body since they were a disc/drum setup. do you know if the MC from the fox will bolt up to my firewall and pedal?

Lman, Degins does have a 65-66 specific spindle to address the bump steer and other geometry issues but for 67-up the mustang spindle geometry is the same as the granada spindle. so that wouldn't apply for 67-up cars.

Dave, even here in good ol' west texas we don't have any wrecking yards with granada/monarchs or maverick/comets anymore.

Yeah, I knew I was skirting uncharted waters a lil (for me) when
I typed that....hence the disclaimer

no sweat bro. i was just clarifying that because a lot of people think that it was all early stangs that had this issue, when in reality it's only the 65-66 cars.

Looks like Discbrakeswap is doing another special, so now would be a good time to buy if this is what you've decided on.

Here is some more info on the set up. They fit best in 16" rims, but I stuffed them in to some 15" rims by using a 1/2" spacer. It is the off set that is the issue sense the caliper sits past the rotor hat. As far as the cobra interchange they will not fit. When you swap out a 99-04 GT to cobra you replace the rotor, caliper, and mounting bracket with cobra parts. The larger rotor requires the caliper to be moved outward which is why the caliper will not fit. I was under the same impression before I started this project and had asked MustangSteve if I could use his cobra brackets with SN95 rotors and GT calipers. When he explained to me why it wouldn't work, he also gave me some info that allowed me to make my brackets.

That makes sense. I think that the 99-04 GT brakes will be suffice anyway for a street car, cobra beakes are probably overkill. Are the 99-04 GT brakes the same as the V6 brakes in those years? My birthday is next Friday and I will be getting some $$ to spend on my car, so I will most likely be hiiting you up for some of those brackets after I have now researched prices on Ebay for the parts. I think I can save around $200 by going with your brackets as opposed to the discbrakeswap. One more thing...what exactly needs machined on the spindle and how much needs to be taken off...

I'm also looking into converting my '67 (drum/drum no power assist) to four wheel disc with power assist.

I came across this ebay ad:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/65-66-67-68-69-70-71-MUSTANG-4-WHEEL-POWER-DISC-BRAKE_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33564QQihZ019QQitemZ290082671208

The kit looks pretty complete and includes the brake booster. Does this look like a good deal? Has anybody here ever dealt with this guy?

Thanks

I had the SSBC 4-piston kit. I liked it a lot. But I don't know how much better it was (if at all) over a stock kit.

Any one ever install the power disc brake conversion kit below. I was reading a lot of the previous threads and I came across a couple of people mentioning this kit and it seems pretty cheap. I was wondering on the quality of it.
