Check Engine Light, What is the Deal!!!

I'm not a pro at this, but I am going to take a GUESS (please don't flame me!).

Bank one means passenger side - I think!
Sensor 1 is the O2 sensor nearest to the headers (on the H pipe)
Sensor 2 is the other O2 sensor on the mid pipe.

I don't know about the P0174...

I had the same codes when I put a pro-chamber on and the MIL eliminator got wet...

Ive had the P0174 on and off ever since i installed my CAI. Every once and awhile now that i have that and my exhaust installed i throw either a Too Rich or Too Lean and sometimes its bank one sometimes its bank 2......P0172 is the usual one i get. Sounds like THAT would be something to do with any intake/exhaust mods you might have. Couldnt say anything about the rest.

OK here is the deal. I got all the (yes I said all) the codes pulled for my car.

P0135
Bank 1 Sensor 1 Heater Circuit Malfunction
P0141
Bank 1 Sensor 2 Heater Circuit Malfunction
P1131
Fuel and Air Metering ???
P0174
System too Lean Bank 2

WHAT DO I DO?!?!?!?!?!?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Check and/or replace the front o2's. They are the culprit.

Here is a good place to get them

OK, I appreciate the help, but now I have a dilema! I have one person saying its the 2 sensors on the passenger side, and one person saying it is the two forward sensors!! Which one is it. If I plan to replace the H pipe should I wait to get the sensors, or will I need them for the new part anyway. The last time I bought an X-Pipe was about 4 years ago, and I can't remember if it came with sensors, or if I used the ones on the car.

Sorry, I read it a little fast
Bank 1 sensor 1 would be the passenger side front o2 sensor
Part #C5010-106955

Bank 1 sensor 2 is the passenger rear o2

Thank you very much!!! Do you recommend getting them now?
I would maybe go to a mechanic that has one of the expensive code readers that gives the graphs and readouts. See if there really isn't any activity with the sensors. also just maybe crawl under and check the connections to them. I believe that the reast of the codes are a result of the o2 sensors going bad.

I can give you some more input on this once I'm at work, but I'm stuck at home waiting for the a/c repairman this morning. :(

Ok.

P0135 is forward o2 sensor heater malfunction, doesn't specifiy which bank in my description. The main suspects are a bad o2, bad wiring between the o2 & the pcm, or a bad pcm. The most common problem is a bad o2.

The P0141 code refers back to P0135. I'd replace both upstream o2 sensors.

P0174 is lean condition, bank 2. The pcm is trying to fatten up the air/fuel ratio & has reached its limit. Possible causes are many; we'll come back to this one.

P01131 is another o2 code: lack of switching, sensor indicates lean. This means that the sensor is trying to correct for an overly rich condition.

Remember, the pcm set a code because it thinks the car is too lean, & can't make the mixture any richer.

I agree with Venom; the forward oxygen sensors have gone belly up. There is always a possibility that something else is going on besides the sensors, but they are a solid place to start. Replace them, get the codes cleared, & see what happens.

As a heads up, I wouldn't be surprised if the rear o2's set a code shortly after replacing the fronts. The pcm will sometimes decide after seeing brand new forward o2's that the rear o2's cannot keep up with them (happened on my wife's SHO).
