check engine light

My car will not pass emission test because my check engine light is not working. Any ideas. Thank you. Bill

Post in the tech section and get our car to autozone if you don't have a tuner to see what codes you are pulling. Also if you haven't had the car long and don't know what has been added aftermarket wise, it wouldn't hurt to crawl under the car and see if you have an off-road mid pipe as that will probably be your cause.

engine light

Thanks I have a stock exhaust. The car passed every thing except there was no light. Taking it to dealer monday.

That light is controlled directly from the PCM as I can see. It's the PNK/LT GRN wire coming out of the PCM (terminal 2). Looks like the power is shared by the tach so if that's working then it's the ground coming out of the PCM...

btw, this should be in tech...

Sorry Iam kind of new to posting. Someone removed the bulb for some reason. I took it to Ford dealer and they replaced the bulb for $199.00. It passed emission just fine.

The "ole missing $200 bulb" repair... I gotta get certified for that one!
