{NOTE} These pics are more recent than the dates, just a month or two ago.

Do you guys really get into these cars, cause I really love capris, one's like mine anyways, with the good normal interior, like that of a stang, and my bubble hatch. The bubble hatch actually doesnt look ghey when u have good pipes and tint it out. I kinda did a half ass job washing and detailing it, esp with the tires, but its still a good view of the car. I actually had a video of me beating a turbo honda like a month or two ago, some of you liked it, im glad. Well here's my baby, tell me what ya's think, and feel free to give me ideas as to what "you" would do with the car if you owned it!!!!

This is my plan, to get the GT mustang side skirts(but fill them in with bondo so they're plain), and lower it a few inches, this car sits EXTREMELY high for some reason.

Hope to see some responces, I want input to decide what would be a cool idea for this car, its VERY rare, so i'll never sell it.

Possi rear, w/3:73's, World Class T5, 302 H.O. out of a 93 GT, but converted to carbuerator, BBk full lenth headers, 3" h-pipe, 2" tips, 30 series flowmasters. This car is loaded, every power option available, the nice seats with netting in the head rest, even has cruise control!! Lata peeps

no offense, but imo that bubble hatch looks kinda goofy. Would a mustang hatch bolt onto it? otherwise....nice car, Ive only seen one capri, but it was before I new wat was up with them.

Id get some pony rims and lower it and you would be good to go. Doesn't look too bad rarely see capris around here.

Yes regular Mustang hatch will bolt on. Bubble hatch is more aerodynamic for what it's worth.

I like it. Looks good. Always have liked the Capri. Would look great with a cowl induction hood.

I'd look into a complete paintjob and do something about the metal trim around the door and windows, that's what makes it look ugly. Next would be suspension and a nice set of wheels. Basically, I'd make it look something like that car in your avatar.

You asked for it;

Ditch the big nose, looks like it's pushing snow. Bottom edge is pointing downhill, don't think a lowering job is going to get rid of that. Non fog light nose will make the car look much lighter and sleeker.

Put a set of '87-'93 qtr windows and drip rail in. Makes the car look sleeker, more modern and keeps the bubble hatch from looking 'bubbly'

Interior:

Ditch the woodgrain in the dash. '85-86 GT stang 'airplane' panels look excellent in these cars. Same deal with the steering column and wheel. Horn button on the turn signal stalk was a gay idea way back when. Again, '85-86 GT SVO style wheels are the snot on these cars. Upgrade the rear interior to '87 stang setup (looks better and has better speaker locations.) Same for the door panels. The arm rest mounts are a little tricky, but not impossible.

Wheels (mine had similiar when new to me) have got to go. '87-89 fin wheels actually look good on these cars (I had a set and they looked like they belonged, not like the GT stangs that look goofy with them.

Nice middle finger in the first pic. Paint the chrome in the grill flat black, again sleeker, more modern. I think the chrome grill capris also has chrome headlight bezels.

Car has potential. Black doesn't do it very much justice with the tinted bubble hatch. Looks huge in the rear and I can agree with the above on the looks. Mine was metalic grey with the orange and red RS slashes over the fender humps and looked pretty good from 20 feet.

It looks good, got potential. I'm with everyone who said to ditch the woodgrain and the wheels, and give it a good suspension. I've never been a bubble hatch fan myself, my first car was a '79 Capri- and that year didn't have it- it had the same hatch as the Mustang which looked badasss with the Capri tail lights. It didn't have a spoiler, which on the HB 'stangs looks pretty ghey but on the Capri looked sleek for some reason. I woulda loved a spoiler, but didn't feel like investing any money in that car. Didn't appreciate what it was, I always wanted a 'stang. Two Mustang GT's later, I'm wishing I'd kept it... never thought I'd say that

I would ditch the wheels.....if you want to go short money, score a set of 10 holes in good shape, or some ponies. Those AR rims were "tight" back in 88, but are no longer lol. I agree with the guy that recommended going with the 87+ quarter windows. Makes the car sleeker. As for the interior. I would just scratch all that, pick up an 87+ 4 cyl (or even an 8 cyl if its cheap) parts car with a nice interior and just swap it out. The woodgrain, goofy wheel, ancient HVAC controls have to go for sure.
The suspension...well somethings wrong i think. Either the tires/wheels are too small, making it look higher than it is, or someone put airshock and pumped them up all the way in back. I haven't seen a fox sit that high before. Before you do lowering springs, i would first find out what gave it the "Lift Kit" look in the first place.
Aside from that i love capri's. Yeah they are akward and goofy...but there is something to be said for them. They are sort of a piece of history that is dwindling away as each year passes. Good to see them kept alive. Congrats on the rare car, and i'd say 95% of the guys that have responded to this post have great taste in styling.

Replace the quarter windows with regular ones without the louvers. But i say leave the bubble hatch. Thats what makes that year capri, its ugly, but it has personality. My buddy is building one just like it. I say suspension, and a set of fats and skinnies and a nice dark blue paint job. Then you got something different and sharp. Thats just my opinion though, and Im all about being different. I like the car, later!
