I dont know about you guys but I really dont like the stock antenna on the mustang. It seems like Ford didnt have any antennas to put on the ford mustang and decided to take all the spare antennas from the crown victoria and put them on the mustang.

Anyways I happen to go to pep-boys to look around and found an antenna about twice as small as the stock antenna. Se what you think and let me know if you like it or not?

Take this one back to Pep Boys and chop the OEM one down to size. IMO, it looks better. The biggest problem with the Pep Boys one is the huge base on it. For free, you can chop the OEM one and it'll look like it should have from the factory.
Ck out this how to article at Mustang World - http://www.mustangworld.com/ourpics/fcar/antenna1.htm

Ahh... it only set me back 12.00. Do you think I am going to go thru all that work taking off the ball at the top of the antenna, get some black paint to paint it and then wait till it dries...

Naa I rather spend the 12.00 and use that one. The base doesnt bother me at all.

It's really not that hard to get the ball off. 1 pair of vise grips on the ball and one pair on the shaft - and twist. Then a quick measurement, a quick hack saw job, a little filing to get the new top small enough to receive the ball. And heck, I only touched up the ball itself with paint and didn't even wait for it to dry.
But either way, $12.00 is no big deal, and as long as you are happy. But you did ask for our opinions...

That Pepboys one doesn't look nearly twice as small as the stock one. Check the link in my sig for pics of my billet 7".

Do you guys have black or silver stock antennas??

I have a silver antenna on mine. It has the ball on the top but it also has a thin wire attached to it that spirals all the way to the top and shrinks in size towards the top. My friend doesn't have this antenna on his '03 and as far as we know both are original.

Mine was 31" Silver, with wire. Now it is 14" Black, no wire.

Cheers!
