I mean instead of getting mods for my GT and barely reaching 300HP and with a blower maybe around 380rwhp , and that will cost alot of $$$
wouldnt it be alot easier just to throw in this http://www.stangstore.com/Merchant3...&Product_Code=M6007D514&Category_Code=ENGINES
with a nice suspension upgrade and tire...etc... wouldnt it be better ...easier ???

Nah dude, that is a carburated engine and is probably too large to fit. I am finding the perfect engine for you right now since it appears you have significant cash for mods...

You have the right idea. You've done your homework and your conclusion about making more power for the dollar is correct. Superchargers definately make the power. Here is the problem. The lower portion of the stock 4.6ltr modular motors are not built for boost. Though can hold up well under light boost like 6psi and possibly hold up under 8psi intercooled with a good tune. However, you still run the risk of blowing the rods and pistons cause they are made of hyper-reutectic metal. Not forged steel. If you wish to run boost, just realize the lower end of the motor is on borrowed time and you'll eventually have to upgrade to a stronger bottom end.

Going from fuel injected to carburated would be a significant change... Lots of hidden costs. That cammer I posted is fuel injected. Costs $15k and you will need a blower for it but it will be off the f'n hook bro

You really wouldn't be any money ahead. You'd have to get a new tranny and custom exhaust, just to name a couple things. And there's no way you'll be close to smog legal if need be. I wonder how big of a cowl would be needed to fit that motor?

now we'r talking. But my friend blew his motor last month.03 cobra , with a pulley and a baaaaaaaaaaaad tune. the reason I'm pissed is...I had to push the cobra for almost a mile by myself
Kilgore , the engine looks really great, but its a bit $$$$ 14,999 !!!
i dont know , will i need a different tranny with that.
I kinda need a list of things i would have to get before/when i slap that cammer on.

What's the price of the 07 cobra engine gonna be? Why get a 5.0 if there is a 5.4L 32 valve coming out that's already built for boost. I was looking at the cammer myself but I think i'll wait.

for $7500 you could make 500-600hp from what you have and be fuel injected.

vt short block $2500, kb 2.2ll $5300, stock heads and cams.

with what you have listed there would be lots of convertion.

My thoughts exactly. Anyone who is considering swapping out the 4.6ltr motor from their car and going to a 5.0 should of just bought a 5.0 to begin with. Especially if they're gonna spend 15,000 extra dollars just to get a high performance 5.0 motor. It would be cheaper just either go the boosted route with a forged bottom end on the 4.6ltr or go bolt-ons, VT engine heads, VT engine cams, and tune. If you're still not satisfied, you can buy a 5.4ltr Modular block and transfer your heads, cams, etc. to it and then get a tune. Either way, you'll be able to make the same, if not more power than the hi output 5.0 and still save yourself thousands of dollars in turn for other mods or just for a beater to drive everyday.

going from a 4.6 to a 5.0 actually makes a lot of sense since you'll be increasing the narrow bore these engines already have. this is what will make more hp rather than a stroker which will mainly make more torque. tru the cammer is a bit overpriced, but you get a variable geometry intake, fr500 heads and cams, forged bottom end, computer, and wiring harness all set to go. remember folks, speed and power is just a question of how much money you have.
