Ran across this fox body Sleez on eBay and went to take a look at it: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1987...4643559746QQcategoryZ6236QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
It is only 1/2 hour from my house. I rode over there in mine, but the guy didn't see me drive up. I meet him and he starts off by telling me this not a normal Mustang, its a S-A-Y-L-E-E-N. Limited production and all. So I bit, and began looking around the car. It's not in bad shape. It's been repainted (runs on the rear wing). The sayleen wheels are due for a good cleaning, but they didn't look real bad (I'm not a big fan of the basket weeve type wheels). The tires are entirely too small for the car and dry rotted. The interior is is pretty decent shape. The Flo-fits don't have any tears or rub marks but there is rust on the metal parts of the seats. Some of the plastic isnt in great shape, especially around the door locks and window controls on the drivers side. The car has 131000 miles on it to boot (and the engine looks like it!).
So I ask the guy how much he "really" wants. He proceedes to tell me that he needs to get at least 8K for the car. I told him there was no way he was going to get 8 for the car and he again informs me that it's a collectable Sayleen. So, I took him out to see mine and he says, "you already have one". I said I know but I wanted to check out the car because it's a Fox body. I told him that no-one that knows anything about the car is going to give him 8 for it, but he tells me that maybe he still thinks he can get it. I tell him good luck and take off...
BTW, is the Saleen ID plate on the drivers side inner fender on the Foxs? That is where this one was. I thought they were on the firewall as well. Looked for some Saleen build info on the doors, but there wasn't any. Oh well, for those of you that might have been looking at it, it's not worth it in my opinion...
