Cheep fix, or gambling my life?

As my engine bay cleaning/painting woes continue, today I broke the passenger sid brake linea right at the Master Cyl. The 3rd line in the MC, the one that bypasses the stock prop valve (It IS the pass side line right?), broke from rust and my attempt to take it out. Now, since I need the car by Monday, I don't have time to hunt down a new line, and it doesn't help that all the JYards around here are Stangless.
My question is simple, can I get a compression fitting and use it as a bandaid for the time being? Or am I just screaming for trouble?

just buy a lenght of line the same size and some fittings and bend it into shape.

That's what I was originally going to do, but the place around me don't have sizes larger than 60", I'm almost ceritain that line is over 60", so I will need a union anyway.

Nope, another reason I was considering the compression fitting. I would love to just bend up a new line, but if I can go the cheap route I will. I've heard of guys doing it before, I just want to make sure it's safe.

Do not use compression fittings on brake lines! The automotive compression fittings were designed for low pressure applications.

If you broke the line from the bottom of the MC, I though it was the driver's side line and it is only like 24" or shorter. So it would be easy to bend up a replacement from a parts store line if you can't find a used one.

Auto Zone rents the double flare tools, and you get a full refund on the tool when you take it back. So, do it right the first time, especially since you won't be out anything on the tools when you take them back.

So, get double flare unions, flare nuts if needed, the tool, and some lengths of brake line.

compression fittings with brakes are a big no no, as stated above. If it was that rusty that it broke in that spot, its probably not so strong all the way down the line.
