Chuck Norris vs. Steven Seagal

Sounds like a lot of you guys aren't familiar with aikido...in most of those situations, seagal would have been breaking arms as he went instead of just throws/submitions

It'd be a good fight for sure...norris has several black belts...but 7th dan in aikido is very very difficult to reach and his tallent far surpasses what that one video would show

Did you notice that NONE of the guys attacked SS from behind, the way it would really happen? The guy that got a neck full of Norris boot DID attack from behind.

I used to wonder this. I asked my sensai (forget how to spell it lol) why?? He said cause its a c0ck fight and Aikido is about alot more than getting into a ring and kicking someones a$$ for no ligitimate reason. Tha'ts the answer...

Justin....I can tell you that the "Enter the Dragon" scene ....Bob Wall actually leaned in too far and cut Bruce......and he said he paid for it because when Bruce side kicked him into the crowd.....he said it was for real......I read a article in on of the BB magazines in the 90's when they interviewed Bob....

You would think someone that knows akido or whatever would get cocky and get into the UFC.

However, they have to find in MMA for awhile to even get a shot at the UFC. You have to be good to get in UFC.

I just watched that last link. It looks fake to. The younger guys don't appear to be trying very hard. And that old guy didn't even punch him....it was like a foot away and he went flying. It looks like some sort of show to me.

I think a good UFC fighter could hold their own against SS or Chuck.

I would assume that anyone that is a blackbelt in aikido would have no interest in UFC...not because they would lose, but because of its direct connection with the aforementioned "**** fight". Aikido is centered around zen principles (basically don't be a douche bag and fight just for the sake of fighting) and anyone who is blackbelt or above does have the power to kill a man through pressure point manipulation.

Hapkido (what I train) is not allowed in UFC. Mostly because the hapkido artists that were in UFC at one point, ended up killing or severely injuring their oponents. the last video I posted was hapkido, not aikido.

lastly, the SS aikido video is a demonstration. it is by no means a full out kumite or spar. as said before, in real life, instead of being thrown lightly, the attackers would be having several bones broken.

I might be biased because I don't have much interest in BJJ. Yes, it is very effective...but I have no interest in rolling around on mats all day when I could learn techniques that don't require groundfighting at all

anyone in here have training in any martial art? I think whitestallion does...I did judo when I was younger and got to green belt...and now I'm doing hapkido, and have been for about 8 months...just enough to scratch the surface

Yea I'm a first degree black in taekwondo. I know I'd get my ass handed to me by the other fightings styles. But it's also good to have the upperhand on average Joes. To tell you the truth, only my friends at the tkd school, my family, and you guys know I'm a black belt. No one else knows cause I don't want some random punk trying to start a something just so he can fight a black belt. lol I just tell people I'm a yellow or something and I'm just starting out.

But yeah, I'm pretty sure the other reason why Aikido fighters aren't in the UFC is because they usually break and arms and legs to defeat their opponents. Not allowed in the UFC, haha.

I am a red belt in Karate. I was pretty younge when I trained for that. I honestly don't remember anything besides punching boards and twirling sticks around.

But I have been training in boxing, kickboxing, and Jui Jitsu for about 6 months.

Basically I want to get into MMA fighting. Plus I think that is a pretty decent combo for street fights also.

that is a very potent street combo...kickboxing, bjj (not so much traditional japanese jiujitsu) and muai thai are incredibly effective due to a very easy learning curve...what you learn in your first few months is what you focus on for the next years....

don't forget about the spiritual side of the other arts such as karate, judo, aikido, japanese jiu jitsu, tae kwan do, etc...it is the zen principles and breathing/meditation techniques that turn a technically good fighter into an excellent fighter. being able to tap into the so called '6th sense' is something extraordinary...and something most UFC fighters lack. if not all...I have a feeling if they were interested in the spiritual side of the arts, then they'd have no interest in kicking the crap out of someone for the sake of television and profits
