I use Eagle 1 Auto Glass cleaner on all of my glass. I think the dealership used something to write the price and details of my car on the windshield when it was there. I can still see the numbers on the windshield whenever fog gets on it even though I cleaned it very well. Any ideas?

Steel wool and glass cleaner is your best bet.

Know that the steel fibers will rust. You must rinse your car thoroughly if you use it. Also, no coarser than 0000 or it will scratch (do not use Brillo).

You might want to first try Coca-Cola. Lemon juice is also good. There is also vinegar. All of these won't scratch, but may smell a bit funny for a bit until you wash it.

I have always used the cleaner Called "Bon Ami" they sell it at the grocery store next to Ajax and Comet.. its not abrasive as those and I have never had any Ill effects, just as you wash use it to wash the windows. insure that you rinse throughly if not you will have a powdery residue.. then use your glass cleaner to shine the glass up a bit and looks perfect..

I learned that awhile ago on the old show Shade Tree mechanic when TNN had all the good car shows..

Invisible Glass using a razor blade as a squeegy (sp). Then use Invisible Glass again and dry like normal.

BTW, when you use glass cleaner on your windshield, use newspaper (b&w, not color pages) instead of papertowels to wipe it off and dry it. Not only are they lint-free, but there's something in the ink that cuts through the haze and leaves a shine to it. The newspaper works especially good on that haze that builds up on the inside glass surfaces.

Just don't use cheap newspaper. I tried with a local neighborhood paper and the ink was left on my windshield. Use better newspaper.
