i am having clearance issues with my long tube MAC's and my clutch cable on my 89. I was just wondering if there was anyone else that expierienced this problem. I put a thermal sleeve on the cable to try and keep it from the heat becuase I melted my last cable. The cable is like right on the header pretty much and it does not really seem like there is anyway around it. At least with my headers. Any suggestions? Thanks a lot.

I am having this same issue. I have replaced my cable twice and am about to do it for the third time. Is there anything out there to prevent this?

A SN95 cable might help with this, since it is longer.

Good luck.

Exactly. Make sure you buy a true Ford cable and not an aftermarket, doesnt matter who makes it they all suck. Ford makes the best clutch cables, hands down. Make sure you get a firewall adjuster with it and you'll have no problems.

i ran into a problem just like that, but it was because the locating bracket pushed the cable closer to the engine, I just pulled the bracket off the old cable and put in on the new one...

I know everyone here hates the aftermarket cables, but I've not had any problems with my Steeda kit...it's been on for two years now, and i can get all the adjustability i want out of it.
