I don't know if this is the correct place to post this but I am new and looking for a little information. I am rebuilding a 351C with D4AE-AA heads. I know they are 2v but cannot find these heads listed anywhere.

Nothing unusual about that. Ford used block castings for several years until a revision was needed to use a new casting. D2AE-CA wasn't a 72 only block. It would likely have been used until the end of production for the Cleveland in 1974. E7TE heads were used for at least ten years. C8OE 302 rods were used for at least 22 years. The casting numbers are no indication of when a part was made(or in what vehicle it was used in). Only the date code will tell you that.

Well, the D4 in the number means the heads were cast in 1974. D4AE isn't a Cleveland code I'm familiar with, though. I looked it up in my Tom Monroe book and it isn't listed. Possibly these are Australian 302C heads? If they are closed chambers that could be why the casting code is hard to find.

Are the heads closed or open chamber? What size are the valves? If you give this kind of general information about them people should be able to give you advice.

The heads are open and valves measure somewhere around 2 1/8. I will check and see about a picture tomorrow since the heads are in Texas and I am back in Iowa for a couple weeks.
