I just picked up an 05 and at 70-80 on the highway I hear a really loud clicking noise coming from what sounds like the passenger side of the car.

Anyone have a guess as to what this could be?

I'm hoping it's a known problem and an easy fix.

Here's the car:

Thanks,
Alan

Can you tell if the noise is coming from inside or outside the car? I had a rattle at lower speeds from the door panels that ended up being the plastic pieces behind the door levers. Popped them out and placed velcro to make them fit tighter and it disappeared.
Next step will be to remove the dash panel around the glove box and get rid of that annoying rattle/squeak for when I'm not driving loudly(exhaust/stereo).
Unfortunately, they look nice and perform pretty well, but I've read several places on the net that the newer Saleen build quality suffers

I've only had the car for 3 days so I can't speak to the quality of the Saleen, but I've heard similar things since Steve Saleen left the company.

*So far,* the car seems pretty solid, but every new car is awesome until you start getting tired of it.

If you go to their website, you'll find it's a mess; poorly laid out and so lacking in content it's not even funny.

I haven't had a lot of time to check it out, so I'm not really sure if it's outside or inside. One thing that does seem apparent is that it's speed related. I'll pull that wheel and take a look.

As for Saleen, as a company, I'll say this: For a company that should do enough aftermarket parts business to carry everything else (as much as I hate to use them as a reference, look at Steeda for a perfect example), it seems that they're going out of their way to sell less product than the day before.

I'll check those two things and report back.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Alan

I know everything has it's share of bad apples in the bunch. Hopefully yours is a legit problem and not some careless oversight by a lazy worker.
Good luck on hunting down the problem source and don't hesitate coming back for help or findings

Hi there. How is the air pressure in your tires? This clicking, or a similar clicking happened to me once and I found my tires were a bit too low in pressure. Once I got them back up the clicking stopped.

Thanks man. I'll try anything, at this point.

Right now, I think it's either a loose fender liner or the mesh screen in the front bumper.

I'll check the air pressure first thing in the morning.

Did you get to check this morning? Wouldn't it be great if it was so simple,

Of course, I completely forgot.

The nasty weather isn't helping me remember, either.
