Clicking Noise???

my car has a clicking sound only when cold and it sounds like its coming from the alternator but i just changed it and it still does it, it sounds like electrical but shouldnt it do it cold or hot? it only does it when its cold for about 5-10 min and nothing else, if i let the car sit for an hour or two it doesnt do it, only when the car sits for a while like overnight, any ideas

Idler pulley?

Take the belt off and wiggle it/them by hand and see if its loose.

posted in brandon's name on accident. anyways its not the idler pulley. im thinking that maybe its the water pump because it started after i did my pi intake and i had to beat it off with a hammer and a 2x4 because it wouldnt come. 13 years of being on there i guess it didnt want to budge.

i was waiting for someone to say something about that. i think it something electrical because it does it when i put my windows down

it sounds like an electrical thing, its like somthing is arcing inside the alternator, its more of a popping then clicking noise......

but it goes away after the car is warmed up, shouldnt it do it all the time if it was electrical?
