I'm having quite a bit of pressure being released from my gas tank when I screw off the
gas cap. Is this a sign of a clogged canister?

If so... Do you clean it out or replace it?? (the canister)

Is it a lot of pressure being released or a lot of air being sucked into the tank?

Blowing out, I'm sure, but now you have me wondering...

I'll put a match in front of it and see if it blows it out ...

no ... wait....

more testing required

I replaced my charcoal canister once. It's not bad at all. Just pull the passenger side front wheel, pull out the inner fender and it's stuffed in there on a bracket. Remove the bracket, swap the lines and put it all back together. The canister is sealed, so you'll have to just replace it. My car was dumping fuel like crazy into it. It was so saturated with fuel the raw fumes were just dumping into the engine bay.

This helped for a couple of months. Then the next one was saturated too. :x So I deleted it all. Now the tank does what you mention. But so far it's been good through the intense heat of the summer with no issues. Just a lot of hissin noises.

Mine was bad because the overflow tube that comes out in the engine compartment (under the air filter area) was spewing raw fumes. It not only smelled bad. You could see the vapor haze.
