Recently my clutch cable broke on my '93 5.0 Mustang :damnit: . So I went to the auto parts store and got a clutch cable. But when I tried to put it on the cable was too short. So I went back to the store to see if they gave me the wrong one, and found out that the was the cable that was supposed to fit the car. I went to several different places and got the same thing. I think the problem could be that because the car used to be automatic that the T-5z that was installed, may need a longer cable. Am I right for thinking this or has anybody encountered this problem?

Sounds like maybe you're routing it a little differently. How short does it come up?

stock quadrant? did you release the quadrant/pawl?

I broke mine a few days ago too. I thought the new one was too short, but it wasn't. Just needed something to pry the lower connector thingy forward.

Another option is to go with a 94-95 clutch cable. It is longer and is possible that this it what they used when doing the swap.
