Clutch boot neccesary? (did a search)

The boot is there to keep out water / salt and snow. It's also there to stop debris, dust, oil (leaky engine) from getting up there also.

I suppose if your car is a weekend cruiser only that doesn't see very much activity during the rest of the week you would be OK, but it's just a guess from me.

I dont have one - havent since I got the car. I need to get off my butt and spend 5 minutes making a cover for it.

I took mine off years ago when my car was still a daily driver to help keep the clutch a little cooler. I drove in rain all the time and never had a problem. On the other hand, this post got me thinking I might put it back on, but I thought I might have thrown it away. Low and behold I found it up in my attic, even had the original bolt with it. Haven't decided if I'm gonna put it on though. And no , sorry, it's not for sale, lol

yeh I was thinking the same to put it back on... but I have never had any probs with it being off... so.. I think I will leave it off.. :nice:
might be for sale.. lol :D

Thanks for the 411! I am definitely more relaxed about not having it on. It's ice and snow here in Northern Virginia anyway... don't want to be riding on salted roads.

Guess I will look around for a boot and put it on when we get a half decent day (sucks not having a decent garage).

This IS the place for information it would seem. :SNSign:

Thanks a million!
