Clutch chatter. Heat? Throwout bearing?

I had my clutch done at Ford a month or so ago and they had to redo it since the TO bearing was making the clutch pedal vibrate when it was engaged. So it was fine after they replaced it but now its been really hot (90s) and I'm getting some clutch chatter in first gear and a little of the pedal vibration back.

Could it be the heat thats causing the chatter or maybe another bad TO bearing? Or maybe a different problem? I never had chattering problems in the heat with the original clutch.

Take it back to the shop.

Its not that bad yet. When I had the vibrating pedal they said it was normal and I had to wait until it got really bad before they agreed with me. They will most likely tell me I'm not giving it enough gas or something ridiculous like that. I have a year warranty so I'm kind of hoping it gets worse here soon so its obvious. I just thought it was strange that it started doing it when it got really hot.

It's possible that the dealer didn't resurface the flywheel when they did the clutch or they contaminated the surface of the new clutch during installation.

I had them resurface the flywheel when then did it... assuming they did it. It was fine for weeks after I got it back and just started doing it. I also notice that when the car is cold it doesn't do it or not nearly as bad until I drive it for awhile. Its cooler today so Ill see if its doing it as bad.

Do you have an aftermarket cable quadrant or firewall adjuster? It might be adjusted too tight if so.

If it is all stock, lift up on the clutch pedal and push down on it a few times until the clicking stops when you push down the clutch pedal.

Nah vibration in the pedal and chatter is a sign of a botched install take it back to the stealership do not try to do anything to correct and if you do try to troubleshoot it do not mention anything about it at the service counter. Also never mention the opinions or advice of "guys in the internet" at the service counter it is generally not well received. Take it back and be nice until it is time to stop being nice.

That is true, but adjusting the clutch cable might be the problem, if he never did it after he got it back it may have screwed up the clutch, so if he adjusts and and it fixes it, problem solved, otherwise, its time to have the stealership tow it back and fix it for you.

I don't have anything aftermarket on there. They put in a NAPA clutch are TO bearing because the couldnt get a Ford one but replaced the TO bearing with a Ford one when it crapped out. I had a Toyota truck where they did the clutch with a non Toyota clutch and I had the same problem.

I would think if it was done wrong it would be chattering from the start but when I drove it today it was fine until it warmed up outside and the car warmed up.

I need it to do it more often before taking it in otherwise they will give me the old "I don't notice anything wrong" line.
