well the 302 is in the 65 coupe. The problem, one of many, is that the clutch linkage is to long. The car was an original straight 6. Anybody know where I can get a new one?
Not quite the same, but over 30+ years ago, I swapped a 289 to a 302 in a 65 coupe with a three speed stick and ran across the clutch linkage incompatibility problem. I can't remember off hand, but I do remember going to the junk yard and I think getting the linkage and related hardware for the 302 which fit in the 65. Oh yeah, the bell housing was different too. Don't know if this will help you, but maybe.
