The dual friction has a stock pressure plate, so it shouldn't be any worse than a stock clutch. Probably the clutch cable binding up somewhere.

Pretty much have to buy a new cable. Check and make sure it's routed correctly, and the bracket that holds it to the inner fender is still there.

Get an OEM replacement cable or a used stock cable. You can use them with a double/triple hook quadrant. I've been using my "used" stock cable since I converted to a 5 speed a little less than a year ago with no issue!

Maximum Motorsports sells an OEM cable I believe.

Has it always been like this? I've actually installed a fox style fork on accident my first go round. It felt like I was bending metal engaging the clutch, it was just alot of bind from the angle.

I had purchased a new fork with my cutch kit from summit....tore everything off and threw it in a pile when I did my h/c/i. Never thought to compare the two forks until I figured out the issue.
