Plain and simple how do i fix it? I got the whole dash apart. My car is a mess and i still can't get to the damn thing.

definetly dont need to take the dash off....but that might work. anyways....take the seat out if you are a big guy and lay down with your head at the pedals. look up by the gas pedal and you can see the clutch quadrant. now, you have to take out the cotter pins to get the quadrant out. the big part should come off faiirly easily. the smaller part will take a little help from mr. pry bar. just get angry and all your strength and pry that little bastard off

oh yeah, first step would be to put the dash back into the car

no don't put the dash back in because it is a lot easier to get the quadrant out if not already done so. when i caught my parts car on fire, it melted everything, including the old plastic quadrant and bushings. since the dash was melted it was very easy to get the pedal assembly out but then you put the dash together once you get what you need out. i caught it on fire while i was trying to get the pedals out. i did it the easy way, of course i did not intend on doing it that way.

how do you catch a car on fire when messing with the pedals?

When I replaced mine, I got the pins off easily with pliers. The top pin can easily be accessed through the hole in the Firewall if you pull the cable out. To get that damn little plastic piece off of the shaft up top, I had to blowtorch a screwdriver, and melt the SOB off, because metal bracing which hold the pedals prohibits it from sliding off.

thats where the prybar comes in handy. just gotta get some ass behind it

it was getting dark and pieces of the windshield were all in my back from laying in it and i was getting bitten bye 1,000000000000000000000000000 and 1 mesquito's. i also could not get to the bolts that held the assembly to the floor very good so i used a torch.

that thing is a major pita.

I just used my fingers to push the cotters out, much easier. Fyi, that little piece will come out, but that spring holds it in. As ecu put it, get a BIG prybar. if you move the clutch pedal around, it will come off past that bracket.

yeah, i had to use my fingers to get the cotter pin out also...because it was on the opposite side of the bar and i couldnt get a pair of pliers on it....definetly had a little blood coming out of my finger at the end of the night...but that aint nothing compared to the feeling of gettin that little bugger off of there

Thank you for the help i am going to tackle this thing this weekend. ALready swapped out the cltuch cable becuase I thought that was my problem. Still heard the sounds of plastic clicking so I was told it was this. Hpefully it will end my problems. The car broke a month ago now, i figured i could do all this myslef to save a couple bucks but i should have just taken it to the mechanic in the first place. That way i would still be driving my baby.
