When I had my T5 transmission swap done, the shop that did tha work never hooked up the clutch safety switch (clutch has to be depressed to start tha car, i think)... so when my car is in neutral, you can start it w/o pushing it in... since i still have tha same computer from when it was AOD... i dont see any connectors down by tha harness... anyway to hook it up? i know it can be kind of dangerous if it's disconnected liek that

thanks

im not conversant with what connectors and such are messed with in the swap. the clutch safety switch is the lower (IIRC) switch on the clutch pedal arm. it has a 2 terminal connector. the switch is a simple push button set up, on the back of the pedal arm.

all the switch does is allow currect to flow from the ignition switch to the starter solenoid (eventually). when the clutch is not pressed in, the switch is open; push the clutch and the switch closes and allows current to pass to the solenoid (if any of this helps you wire it up).
good luck.

This system uses red wires with blue stripes - I have a color wiring diagram at:

www.veryuseful.com/mustang/tech/engine

Here is a pic of the connector that you need to use.........it comes with a jumper for automatics - cut the jumper and splice the wires through the clutch interlock switch....

i dunno if you guys understand what i'm sayin... i can start tha car w/o depressing tha clutch... when its in neutral is pretty cool not having to get in and push it in to start it... but its very bad if tha cars in gear... i don't know where to connect it to fix that

Yes I did - maybe he didn't see it, but it doesn't get any more explicit that that.

oh Tom, i think if you posted some pics of you pointing out the wires, while wearing, say, a .............. ah nevermind - you were explicit enough.

CJ, with no switch on the car, as you are now, it will start. the switch creates the added safety feature. if you run w/o one (or had one and bridged it), you can start w/o pushing the clutch...... does that help any?
