Anybody attempt this? Thinking about Ford or Steeda units, do they come with all necessary hardware like gaskets? Any good "how to" articles out there?

Sending PM now with a link on a write up. It's hosted on another board, or I would link it directly here.

I did mine though and it's a piece of cake. You reuse the old gaskets off of the ones you take off the car. There is no hardware or anything, basically you reuse everything you take off if I'm not mistaken.

Yup, really simple. I'm assuming you were sent the TacoBill instructions. If so, follow those to the T and it'll be a cakewalk.

Yes I agree, the install was very easy following tacobills very detailed installation instructions. I hope someone has sent them to you. Just make sure you have a custom tune for the cmcv removal. My SCT Livewire had an user adjustable option to remove this but when I tried to do this it didnt work. I was unable to drive the car until I got my updated tune from Brenspeed. Have fun with the install.

Yep, it was TB's write up. I did the same, followed them exactly and it couldn't have been easier.

Ford does not sell delete plates any more so Steeda is your best bet. They have two sets, low priced and not low priced. Not sure of the difference you will see.

I have the brenspeed tune for the cmcv delete plates, can I remove the cmcv motor from the intake or do i just leave it there plugged in???? Would like to just remove the control motor and arms but then there would leave that wiring plug is this ok?

Sorry for the late reply. You can remove the motor assembly entirely as you did and ziptie the unused connector out of the way.

Let us know what you think of the performance after this install. I have my opinions I'm curious to hear yours. Thanks, Chris

Yeah, thats what I did, I removed the motor and actually removed the plug( it goes from the motor to a connector at the back of the intake a lil higher up, I disconnected it there and removed about 8 inch of plug wire, without cutting or ziptying, and now there is nothing to get in the way.) Ummm just did a quick 5 min test drive and holy crap!!!!! I feel gains everywhere even down low but especialy higher up. The road by my house is alittle uneven/bumpy and i went wot in 2nd and the tires were just chirping everytime i hit alil bump or groove, crazy!!
I think it also helped to get the custom brenspeed email tune, because my tune i had was just for my cai, and I have done lots of other mods since then(tb, full exhuast, coilpacks and plugs, udp). All i can say now is WOW, and Im going for another teste drive . I also scheduled for a dyno session on friday to see what this new tune, and deletes plates made!!!!

Good to hear dude. I have similar mods to my ride and my cars at the dyno as we speak. Its getting Steeda UDP's and then I basically have all bolt ons. I just purchased a Spydershaft that I'm gonna install as well. Next step is cams, then heads, then Kenne Bell or Magnacharger. I hope to get it back sometime tomorrow with good numbers I will post then. Later man Have fun

It seems like you have the same basic plan I have. A lil different though. I am waiting on my lakewood watts link(backorder) so i can do my massive suspension overhaul. Sitting in the garage: ford racing k-springs, bilstein hd shcoks/struts, maximum motorsports caster/camber plates, motoblue billet aluminum lower control arms with relocation brackets, and j&m upper control arm, and of ocurse the watts link. Once all that stuff is installed I am doing heads/cams and forged internals at the same time.(manley h-beam rods, 17cc diamond pistons, feder mogul rings and all arp hardware) Crower stage 2 cams with comp beehive springs and steel retainers, and either the the ford racing cnc 3V ported heads, or find some takeoff 3v heads and port and polish them myself. After that goes in a spydershaft and Mcleod rst twin disc clucth and aluminum flywheel. Then 62lb injectors, twin gt40 fuel pumps, aeromotive fuel rail kit, and a procharger F1A running at 18-22 lbs of boost. Then maybe later a beefed up rear end and some sticky tires.

**** dude I almost got a semi. That is awesome. You know your stuff and my bro has a procharged 01 GT Conv. The prochargers are nice stuff but I want that cam and head growl along with the whine of an old school kenne Bell or a Magnacharger. Either way we both have a plan and a mission. Have fun this fall and winter with all the cool installs. Later bro
