Great review your review posted good pics in it.

I havent seen a negative review on the mustang yet. I am also amazed by how the reviews all seem to talk about how well the mustang handles and how it is rattle and squeak free. Ill reserve judgement until I drive one but this platform, at least from the reviews, seems to be a winner.

Actually, I did read one negative review of the '05. IIRC, it was the inaugural issue of a new magazine, "MPH", which I think stands for Muscle Performance and Horsepower.

Anyway, their review was that the performance of the car was just OK, but nothing to write home about. However, their big beef was the interior and exterior styling. For instance, they took issue with the fact that the '05 has more interior room, saying that it is for older people who tend to be heavier set than younger folks. Also, the weight and balancing of the car was at issue. Lastly, in a sidebar, they really took issue with the live rear axle, bitterly complaining about the lack of IRS. Basically, they ended up by saying that as the Mustang's target audience has aged, Ford's designers have "aged the car" to accomodate them.

Personally, I don't know what they're talking about. Everyone else is raving about how the new car looks and drives. Perhaps they're just trying to get people talking about them by writing an article to stir up controversy and get their name mentioned? If so, it worked here. I hope that they honestly wrote their opinions, good or bad, and not just a bunch of hogwash to get readership up for a fledgling magazine.

First post, by the way. I've not owned a Mustang before, but after reading the many articles written so far and the opinions of the people here and on other boards, I have decided that my first Ford will be a Sonic Blue '05 Mustang GT. Thanks for your help!

yeah, Ford should know that us young guys don't want a car that is faster, handles better, rides smoother, gets better gas mileage, is more comfortable, and is built better.
