Hey, thinking about putting a 03 cobra bumper on my 02 GT. Body shop guy says that it isn't a perfect fit and that there is a one inch gap between the hood and grill. Any thoughts?

I can't remember exactly, but you might have to take the 2 push pins on the top out and push the top of the bumper in and redrill the holes further in. Now I can't remember if it that is only w/ a stock hood or aftermarket hood. And that will make it look and fit better

That's exactly it - without the factory 03/04 Cobra hood, you get a gap. The newly drilled holes should be about 3/4 an inch or so in front of the old holes. Test the fitment before you drill, and you'll be set.

I agree that 01 Cobra bumper looks better with the stock Gt hood, UNLESS the 03 Cobra bumper is paired with the corresponding hood too. That combo is tough to beat.

My old car w/ 01 Cobra bumper & stock hood:

the only problem that i had with the bumper was that the fangs on the bumper are to tall and stop the hood from fully closing, but just slam the hood shut and your fine.

My car with a 99 Cobra bumper.

I took it off after my accident and went back to a GT bumper.

Didn't get a chance to get some paint last weekend, I'm going to try and get it this weekend and see how she looks. I'll let you know.
