I just installed new cobra calipers on my 95. Seems like everything fits but i find it all a bit loose. Does the calipers and pads simply hold on by the slots in the brackets? Like if i push down and pull on the caliper it was come right off????
I think there is supposed to be some stainless steel "clips" that go on the ends of the pads before they are installed. I did the "non-Cobra" PBR's on a project car that I built and they used them. It was really weird how it all went together. Those little clips are to be a "buffer" between the pads and the caliper mount, IIRC.

on the 99+ PBR gt calipers theres those little metal clips but not on the cobra calipers. when the caliper is on the rotor (with pads) and the pin is installed correctly you shouldnt be able to pull the caliper off
ok i think they are not actually cobra calipers but Mach calipers which are the PBR ones. There doesn't seem to be any pin like in that pic but i do have clips on the pads which don't seem to do much at all. They just fit in the bracket...maybe i need to open the clips up more or something?
you shouldnt need to open up the clips at all. They are there to keep the pad resting against the bracket. The mach1 calipers will still have the pin that yall are talking about, i just installed some last weekend. If your calipers didnt come with the pin you need to find one, along with the washer and c-clip thing that holds it in place. The pin goes on the bottom of the caliper towards the rear of the car, its right by the silver metal clip in the pic. You can see the notch on the pad where the pin slides, it will be perfectly round where it meets the pin. You need to have that pin in there or the brakes simply wont work right.
also i cant really tell from your pic but my OEM PBR pads only have that metal /rubber clip on one side (same side pin goes in). not sure if yours have them on both sides or not.
yeah mine are EBC kevlar pads and i there is a clip on both sides but i don't think that it changes anything.. the clip seems to be more of an alignment thing more than anything else
