I am thinking of putting a Cobra front bumper cover on my 02 GT. Which year Cobra fits. Any good venders? Any installment issues? Thanks.

I would check out any salvage yards, or you could probably find an aftermarket one for cheap. any of the 99/01-03/04 front bumpers should bolt right on. They look pretty good I was thinking about getting one myself

I like the 99-03 Cobra bumpers as well but so far I have not been able to locate one that's not a factory piece, which usually means the fitment is good but the price is steep. The other day I got into a discussion with a guy that said you can find one in the aftermarket for $200, I bet him $10 that he couldn't. he lost.

One thing to keep in mind is the fog light issue. If you're somewhat profficient at wiring, and can easily re-wire a fog light plug, the 03-04 cobra bumper is easy. The 99-01 bumper is a simple swap, same fog lamp, just a different housing.

I personally wouldn't buy a non-OEM bumper. Too many variables to consider as far as fitment and quality of construction.

One member got his on eBay, painted and shipped for a reasonable price. The color match seemed very good too.

01 Cobra bumper cover license plate

I need to put a liscence plate on my Cobra front bumper. Do I buy the bracket or is there a kit where I can drill holes?

Definitely get the OEM bumper - and maybe ask RandyStinchcomb if the license plate holder is included - I know on new car deliveries they include one, so maybe it comes with just the bumper too...??

Get the 03/04 one though - much better look than than the 99/01 IMHO. Check out 02LaserRed2V's pics...

I bought my 01 Cobra bumper from bumpers.com. Unfinished and I had it painted to match.

For me personally I prefer the 99-01 bumper. As already mentioned, it's a really easy swap too!

But he's also got a heat exchanger behind the giant gap towards the lower middle portion of the bumper. I don't think it looks as good when its just bare.

99-01 FTW! No fitment adjustments to make with a non-Cobra hood, foglights are plug and play, etc...

But I'm bias...

I'd go with the 99-01 myself, but where are you guys finding them? Paying OE prices?

Saleen2001, When and if I can find / buy another one from this guy, I'll PM you and send the $10, I'm just worried it might be a POS.

BTW, I prefer the early cobra noses.

I like the look of both the 99-01 & the 03-04 bumpers, but the 03-04 look kinda funny when u dont have the intercooler behind it.

Yeah I agree with you guys on that - looks better with the intercooler...I think the thing I dont like about the 01 is the slope when you look at it from the front though:

vs. the straight edge of the 03:

Just an opinion though...both look good in their own right
