Cobra intake ??? or aftermarket intake???

Hey,

I am looking at the cobra intake I have to install and my stock 5.0 intake was set up a little different with relation to the heater core coolant tubes that sit on top of the block. The stock one had the EGR plate with connections to hoses one coming from the block that went to the back of the EGR plate and one in front connnected to the heater core coolant tube that sits on the block. Now my new Cobra intake I am blocking off the EGR with a blockoff plate and plugging the hole that comes out of the block that went to the back of the EGR plate. What can I do with the front hose now that comes off of the heatercore coolant tube, I assume plug it but how? or is there any easier way to do this?

The rear hose of the EGR spacer goes to a fitting which is screwed into the lower intake. Don't re-use it. Just install a plug (3/8 NPT I believe) into the hole on your new lower. As for the front coolant line, you will need to plug off the nipple some how. On mine I believe all I did was put a little silicone into the nipple, then I capped it off with the proper size vaccum cap and a hose clamp. Been fine for years. Some people prefer to put silicone in the nipple and then squeeze the end closed with a vise, then cap it.

Yes I was planning on the 3/8 NPT for the rear and you have a good suggestion for the front hose. Now when you say put silicone in the nipple are you refering to just the hose nipple? In other words should I cut the hose down and then do that?
