Not enough in the question to give you a good answer. On a 331-347 the Cobra will choke power over about that rpm even though it will continue to pull, but the lower can be opened up to cure much of that. Same can be said for a 302 with 250cfm heads as the Stock Cobra only flows about 210cfm due to the lower intake.

The cobra is designed to make a broad power band. It will choke power at the top a little compared to other freer flowing designs, but it also produces a whole lot of low end torque. It does this through its long runner design wich creates high port velocity. My NA combo used it with trick flow heads and a steeda #19 cam and it made 275 wheel hp. Now the peak numbers are less than others, but it made over 275 lbft of torque over a broad power band. I had to be bellow 2000 before it dropped bellow 240lbft at the wheels. A lot of people complain about HCI causing them to loose low end torque. My combo did not. Note though, the 275 at the wheels was at 5,500rpm so its not like the car did not rip all the way to red line, it just was down 10-15hp at the top to give me 10-15hp where I drive the car regularly, in the 2000-4000 range. I liked the cobra, it, like the #19 was a good compromise between street orientation and strip orientation.

Exactly right. I have a GT40 which is a very similar design (same lower) and it makes great torque throughout. If you really want that top end you could always have tmoss port it for you and that would probably take care any minor choking problem that may exist.

I made 272rwhp with the stock cam at 5300rpms. Torque was 300 and pretty flat as well. IMO, the Ford intakes are the only intakes I would have on my car, even if they do put out lower numbers. I just cant stand the looks of the other aftermarket intakes.

all that power is from the Bassani headers and X and you know it! ....but seriously the Cobra intake is a good piece....i would recomend a nice aftermarket one but if you can score a Cobra for cheap then go for it!

I dont think i could ever justify not using an aftermarket piece that is proven to make more power just because its "Ugly". My edelbrock performer has been an awesome piece for me and has opened up my GT like no other mod i have done so far. I have always put down more HP and TQ than those with Cobra intakes. If your getting a good deal on it and dont have very big plans for ur car i would say get it, but if u have bigger plans i would just spend a little extra.

Yea I love Edelbrock, I have their heads, but I just hate the look of their intakes. Trick Flow's intakes look better but I dont like the huge "Trick Flow" label on them either.
