351W/5.8 EFI intake manifolds fading away...

Seems as if there is a dearth of 351W EFI intake manifolds these days. Options seem to be HI RAM, Super Vic (and similar TFS), or the Edelbrock Performer. Then there is the rare, but way overpriced, Lightning lowers. No need for a high RPM intake, up to 6000 RPM is fine. One option I was looking at is an RPM Air Gap and getting it modified for injectors. Will be using TFS 170 heads (more than likely getting them ported).

Any carbureted lower will work as long as it either has bosses for injectors (Edelbrock Victor Jr or Super Victors have them that most used for NOS foggers) or you can have them welded on. Just make sure that you match the intake's capabilities with your desired rpm range. If you are not well versed in motor building talk to a cam builder before you pull the trigger match cam, intake, and heads will work together and it will perform as intended. From there you will need a throttle body so be sure you understand what all is compatible with whatever ECU you are going to use.

The China knock off carb intakes can be bought with the injector bosses pre drilled for under 150 these days.... Trick flow is supposed to have the 351 lowers soon for the R uppers but they will probably want 450 plus for just the lower with they way prices been going these days.

I was trying to avoid Chinesium but as long as quality is good, I may go that route. Considering my "to do" list for other vehicle projects, the TF lowers will probably be available by the time I get around to it.

Ehh chinesium, is on par or better than the massively over priced stuff the PE firms who bought out the industry are shipping out these days. Most of Holley brands are China now, trick flows till USA but there learning from edelbrock and holley on price gouging for them since so few are still made... Blueprints china knock off of the rpm air gap for the 8.2 is better quality than the real edelbrock one, and now there charging $250 for it.. Its was less than 200 6 months ago and raw material prices dropped.

This is going to be a refresh of a mild build I did back in 1998 when I was in college for my 67 Mustang. Engine at most has 40k miles on it. That was the plan - chat with a local performance/machine shop about best combos. I Exploder EEC-V EDIS 5.0 swapped my 67, so this would be going in my other Mustang, planning on EDIS as well.

That's good to know. If I am just paying for a name, then it's not worth it. Thanks.

I wouldn't be worried what intakes are available for a 351w I would worry that you are putting 170 heads on a 351w.
Ported or not they are not going to do that 351w any justice.
Please talk with an engine builder before you buy anything else.
