I have 03 Cobra and a 01 Gt. I like the IRS susp. in the cobra and have heard some bad things about it. When you get too much power they break so thins summer i was going to do a IRS for a 8.8 Solid axle swap...From Cobra to Gt and Gt to cobra. Has anyone done this is so what was your results..they both have 3.55 gears so gears is no problem

they made the IRS mount to the same places the live axle mounts to so it should be relatively simple. good luck

Even though the solid axle will get better traction for the 1/4 mile it won't handle the power of the stock rear end of the GT. The Mach's are tearing them up with sticky tires and a Corba would roast one in no time without new forged axles (28/31 spline). You won't have the wheel hop though. Just spend the grand or so to make the solid axle bullet proof and you'll have one fast car and the ability to hook with DR's .
