I was looking at a single blade throttle body from accufab. What are the benefits of single blade vs. dual blade? Is there any chance of losing low end with one of these 1900 cfm throttle bodies?

What engine setup do you have?

How much power do you have and plan to have?

What will flow into it? (what CAI)

What will it flow into? (what Plenum/intake manifold)

I'm looking to get a procharged 96 cobra and I'm looking into tbs. I plan on the 600 range after rebuild with forged internals. Stock cobra intake.

I don't know what the stock cobra intake manifold looks like, but if it has a dual bore inlet to match a dual bore tb, then a single blade tb could cause a loss in hp due to lose of aerodynamic flow and an unchanged flow area.

Otherwise, I would think that single blade may be worth a few ponies at 600 rwhp...

Check out the KB website. They do a lot of testing on stuff like this.

http://kennebell.net/techinfo/ford-techinfo/Cobra_LightningTechTips.pdf

"9. OVAL THROTTLE BODY +10HP
No HP at 400, 4HP at 450, 8HP at 500, 10HP at 550."

Results will vary some with a centri, but the trend will remain the same.

And you can throw it in the trash if your intake manifold isn't cut for an oval TB, or you can port your manifold to match.

I forgot one more thing... the oval tb wouldn't even open if the manifold is a dual bore inlet. The manifold would have to be ported for it to work anyway if it is a dual bore inlet. You may also need to look at your IAC valve location and make sure it isnt incorporated into the part that needs to get cut out.
