COBREAU CR1 SEATS

I've got a set in my GT..and I absolutely love them...they make you feel really "connected" to the car. They feel quite hard versus the stockers...but there's no "give" in the seat when you gas it...so you feel the acceleration the millesecond you're on it. And the seats are literally grabbing on to you..so when you're in a corner...there's no more sliding into the door, and hanging on to the steering wheel...so you can actually concentrate on driving through the corner..instead of hanging on for dear life! These seats hold you in the prefect driving position...and when you get in the car...all you want to do is drive is like it's stolen. And the harder foam is actually better on long runs...I've done a number of 3-4 hour cruises and you get out of the car feeling awesome...no back pain or legs going numb. (thinking the theory of Corbin motorcycle seats applies here too...the harder..the better the comfort in the long run).

They come in 2 sizes:
1) up to 34" waist
2) up ro 44" waist

At 5'8" and 210lbs with a 34" waist, I went with the 34" seat. At first I thought I might have made a mistake when I first squeezed in (kind of tight)...but after 6-7 months of use...I consider the seats a totally awesome mod...sitting behind the wheel of one with a stock seat now, gives the car an "everyday" feel...not like the race car feel mine has.

A couple of things to consider:
a) the shoulder bolsters on mine come really close (1/2 inch) to hitting the doors...so I'd be worried that the bigger seat if needed would rub and make an annoying squeak.
b) be prepared to use the tilt wheel when entering an exiting the car...there's not a whole lotta room between the leg bolster and the wheel
c) be prepared to start buckling up before you shut your door...once again...the clearance issue with the shoulder bolster again.
d) my car gets stored in winter...but I wouldn't want to try and squeeze into the seat wearing a bulky winter coat...the seats fit me like a glove...so if I dress up in big bulky clothing...I won't fit.

I handled the mod a bit differently....I ordered them in black cloth, and had them custom upholstered in subtle two-tone leather. The interior is dark charcoal...so I did dark charcoal down the middle...and black on the bolsters and on the backs...I was doing other interior mods at the time...so the two-tone leather was a must. Corbeau won't do a two-tone...and at the end of the day...it was actually cheaper to do the custom leather then ordering them from Corbeau in leather and only one colour.

I've got no wear issues whatsoever.

If you'd like pics...PM me your e-mail address and I'll zipp them over...don't know how to post pics.

Sorry for the novel...but I hope it helps you make a decision. :nice:

You'll fit fine.

As for your friends...I have had a fairly big fellow squeeze in the car (thinking 6'3" 255lbs)...he didn't complain too much...but it was a real tight fit.
