Coilover springs?

Long ago I purchased a coilover set for my Fox from someplace out of Florida that I cant seem to find online anymore. I believe it was JD's performance. The front is on tubular K-member and A-arms.

Anyhow, the coilover springs have settled and I've adjusted them up about as far as they can go and they are not stiff enough to keep the car up at the correct height.. Anyone have suggestions on just replacing the springs? The entire coilover kit?

Besides the spring it's just a threaded sleeve, rings, washers and bearing cap. Unless it's making noise or damaged I would think
the springs could be the issue.
What pound springs do you have now?

Just measure your coil over sleeve, I think most are made for 2.5" springs if my memory serves me correctly. You can buy any brand name the same size. I will add this, I cheated out and bought summit brand springs and they do fit loose even though they are advertised at the same I.D. as my UPR springs that came with my kit.

Like said, they all somewhat interchange. Do you know the free length and # rating of the springs you have now?

MM has a good selection of Hypercoil brand springs, 2.5". They vary in lengths from 12" to 14" for some of the softer springs like 150#-250# and get shorter such as 10" and 12" with some of the stiffer springs like 300# and up.

If you know your spring # rate and measure it and find it's a 12" spring, you might want to get a 14" version of the same #. That's assuming you like the ride

Unfortunately, I do not recall the spring rate. Tried digging through all my old paperwork and cant find the receipts on these to remember. This car doesnt see any track time any longer, just cruises around town. Any suggestions on spring rate?

Depends on your struts and what they can handle. 225-300 might be good for street. 325-375 might be more for street/sport and stiffer is really getting into more road racing type setup. Stiffer you go, the more you need to make sure your strutS can handle the springs.

I went with 12"/250lb springs on my street cruiser 93GT w/393w.
So far seems like a good mix between handling without being to harsh, but all a matter of opinion I guess.

Thanks. I'm running 70/30 struts. I'll look into the 12" 250 springs.
