coilovers and stock strut help

how the hell do you get the hat off the stock strut so i can use the coilover

i am installing mmr's k-member and a-arms but i am reusing the stock strut

i got every thing done in like a day working alone but once i got to the strut the dam strut turns when ever i try and turn the bolt on top
i will try and get a few pictures

i removed the cover on the upper part of the strut

that bolt on top is what i need to take off

i dont want to clap anything to the strut that may damage it

wow that beast is RUSTED!!.. your going to have to clean them threads before you do anything.. then soak it in PB blaster.. then hit it with an impact wrench and hold on to the strut shaft with your hand..

You need an impact gun, it will bust with right off.

Get an impact gun and make that strut your b**ch. While you are at it get an air ratchet too.

why are you using the stock strut? that makes an absolutely horrible base for a coilover.
