Yes, it's a good idea - just not on stock shocks/struts. Maximum Motorsports makes some of the best stuff. I have coilovers all around, and had them with a cobra IRS as well.
There is less V and H with coilovers, N is debatable CO's are perfect for a street application - they allow lower spring rates (better ride quality) with higher effective wheel rate (better handling).

I would disagree with that. I had the MM C/O kit, and mine made noise. The spring was rubbing the threaded collar for the perch, and no matter what was done the problem could not be remedied.
