I bought a cold air intake for my carb 93 mustang. It didn't come with any instructions but I figured i'd still be able to install it on my own since I know a bit about cars.. But I can't seem to figure out how to install it. Wondered if anyone could help me out? I'm not sure if I can't use the cold air with the setup I have right now do to my mr. gasket hood scoop air intake or not, I'm thinking that is probably a problem. Any insight would be appreciated, sorry for sounding like a retard :-D

I think, to get any real response here, we'll need more information.

Like, what cold air intake system are you referring too? I'd think, in this forum, that terminology normally relates to the air intake system starting with the filter, flowing through the MAF then through the throttle body and into the intakes. However, with your system, that normal terminology would not apply here.

a. Your hood scoop intake gives better performance than any "cold air intake" kit will.

b. I don't believe they make "cold air intake" kits for carbed cars.

c. Post the make and model of your kit. Sounds like you bought one for an EFI car.

After a temporary brain fart I did realize with my current setup I won't be able to use it. I'm not sure what brand the air intake is it's a no-name cheap brand thing a buddy of mine gave me. I know the air intake I have right now will give me more air flow, but with that I can't drive in the rain so I was thinking about switching it but I'm not going to be able to just looks like no rain driving for me

Well, you could always fashion a plug for the hood scoop to keep water/debris out. The engine would then just suck warm air from the engine compartment.

The whole reason for the hood scoop I have right now is for it to take air in, if I plug if then I might as well remove the damn thing.. Or did you mean just use a plug when it's raining? The scoop goes right into the carb then into the engine, If I plug it then the car wont run.
