the stock piece is good enough. cai is really for looks. Go with a larger t/b and aftermarket plenum.

y not a denscharger or fipk k&n cai setup? they both use plastic pipes that retain a lot less heat?? and in most of the dyno comparison shots I've
seen these two setups always yielded the most gains.

Should I go with a fender mounted one or use the straight shot? I dont drive this car very much. Its a 2003 gt with 5700 miles on it. I was thinking of getting a mac fender mounted unit. I think the fender mounted pulls more air into motor and its cooler air. Yea I know the mac pipes get hot but I dont think that makes that much difference because the air is only in the tube for a split second. Or should I get a bbk fender mounted unit?

CAI's are just for "Bling, Bling". You won't notice a difference in power what so ever going from your stock air tube and box to a CAI. Buy it if you want under the hood to look pretty, but nothing else.

And why the hell don't you drive this car very much?

Yap,only good for the bling.
As for the fenderwell version,i would stay away from that one,it affects the mass air's reading.
