On my 93 5.0 when its cold and i start it it dosent want to idol at all unless i give it gas? Once it's been going for a bit then it's fine. Any ideas? peace
could be an intake leak!! my exploder did this in the winter when it was cold! wouldn't run unless you held the gas down a bit and would run fine once it warmed up! took it to my cousins garage he did a test on it and turned out to be a leaking intake gasket! that's all i can come up with! I'm sure others will have more ideas! good luck! James
Do you remember what the test was called? Or what he did to test it? I've heard of using a can of either to spray and it would rev where the leak is? BTW it's just not when it's cold like winter cold, but when the engine is cold. Thanks. peace
yes you can do it that way Ive heard of this! i think he used the same test ford does! with some kind of die or smoke and black light or something like that!I'm not sure! all i know is my truck did the same thing your describing and that's what the problem was! James
That test is just called a smoke test, and dont use eather use just plain ole carb cleaner, and shoot all the vaccum lines one at a time until it idles down, but he is right check your IAC first
