My 289 A code - valves tap for a moment on a cold start when the car has been sitting for a week or more! Is this normal ? And if not would adding Marvel Mystery or anything else help with this problem?

I've had several old v8's from various manufactureres. They all ticked a bit at start up. Lifters bleed down and need to pump up for a sec on start up.
after a long rest, the lifters have bled down, and need to pump back up before they quite down. i have also had many engines from different manufacturers that did the same thing. sometimes ford engines come from the factory with a slight valve tick as standard equipment.
