Ill be painting my drums and calipers soon. My car is blue and white with black trim. Im thinking that I should just paint them both black. Then again blue or a metallic silver may look good. Any recommendations?

I really like the 'cast blast'. Can't recall who makes it, but you can pick it up at any wal-mart, or automotive stores. The parts you paint look just like cast iron when dried. That way your parts will look clean/neat, but not stick out like a sore thumb as they would if you painted them with a bright/metallic color. Who really wants to draw attention to their drum brakes anyway?

I say do the front whatever color you want, but on the drums do a silver or the "cast blast" thing. Any other color would call attention to the drums, and black would look like you have no brakes in the back.

Ohh thanks, Ill have to look into that Cast Blast thing. I like the idea of having them not visually stick out.

I would do the calipers blue or silver and def. paint the drums black , hell silver drums might not look to bad either. If you had cobra fronts you could do blue calipers and then the cobra letters in silver or vice versa

I think having a silver drum would take away from the wheel itself. Bbq black rattle can paint looks pretty good. As for the front, i would go with the as cast look. Anything else but maybe the blue body color wouldnt look right. Just my .02 though

cool thanks for the opinions guys. I may use photoshop and see what I can do.

I was also thinking that silver drums may take away from the rim.

I think silver, dark gray or black calipers would look good, and the drums black or dark gray would be a good choice.

Don't paint the drums anything but black, why draw attention to little tiny drum brakes? Paint them black and the caliper a nice silver to compliment your cars color and be done with them until you upgrade!

I was going to do that to my Audi which has a similar color to your car. I think silver looks best but don't like attracting attention to drum brakes.

Should look good. If you wanted to, I was planning to buy the Silver Caliper paint for my Audi. I am pretty sure you can do easily 2 or more cars with it. I wouldn't mind splitting the cost with you (save $10-15 or so) and doing my car at the same time. I used the red stuff on the fox and it seems to hold up good, considering it has been covered in brake fluid and crap!

I was thinking about doing it today if I had time, supposed to be in the high 40's or so. Might wait as I don't have the stuff yet and had a hard time finding silver when I was looking. I think there is a sale at Pep Boys on the pike but last time they didn't have silver.

Eeek SCSU sucked when I tried to stay with a girl down there. We went to the bar and didn't get back until late, and sure enough they wouldn't let me in. Had to get a hotel nearby when she had a damn dorm right there!
