column install with qa1 k member

i have a 89 notch with full qa1 set up up front i have the k member all the way back and the column doesnt seem to reach any suggestions.

usually when you take out or disconect your sterring it tends to go in so just pull it out enough to reach.

im sorry i dont think i discribed my problem properly th column is in the car the steering shaaft is attached to the rack they line up but i cant get the holes to line up to put a bolt threw it.even if the put a pry bar in to extend the rag joint they wont line up.
