Does anyone know if any parts from a 1970 Coupe can be used on a 1970 Sports Roof??

It looks as though the front ends of both cars are the same. But, what I'm looking at doing is finding a coupe that I can cut the trunk floor out of and weld into my sports roof. It's obvious that the rear quarters, trunk lid and back glass are not interchangeable.

Thanks,
Todd

I think the area right behind the rear seat-back is different; but the gas tank (You knew the top of the gas tank is "the rest of the floor", right?) is the same. The small bit of metal to which the tank mounts can't be all that different.

Yep...I know the tank is part of the trunk structure. I have a 68 that I completely restomoded and am familiar with Mustangs. I was just asking because I found a Coupe that would be a good donor car if the parts were interchangeable with the Sportsroof.

Thanks and looking forward to more exchanges...

You could just buy a new body and rebody your car. They have brand new 1970 Mustang Sportsroof bodies, may work out to cost less then trying to weld two or more cars together.

Why not just buy the sheetmetal? Seems a little overkill to find a donor car just for a trunk floor.
