Thinking about sliding this one into the 289, will I run into any issues with the stock valvetrain? I hear I might have to change the springs, but I decided to throw this one up on a few different forums to get everyones opinion.

Thanks!

I would change the springs lifters get the double rollor timing chain and if you want get the rollor rockers if you have the money.

Oh yeah, I would be getting it with the lifters, and a new timing chain, but is it REALLY necessary to change the springs? The heads have recently been rebuilt

No you dont have to but you my not get the proformance that they say you will get.
you might get more you might get less cheak the specs on the springs when you got them change they might match up.

I was just worried they might fail or something. If its a matter of getting the best performance, I was going to wait on the springs and install them maybe a month or so later.

Thanks!

You can try your stock springs but i bet you will find out that they will bind when fully compressed due to the larger lift cam compared to stock.

You might need screw in studs to keep the extra lift from pulling out the stock pressed in studs.
