my old hard drive just took a crap on me. wouldnt even load up windows. a friend came over and put his hard drive in and his works.

i'm getting a new hard drive and was curious how i can extract the pictures from my old hard drive and put it in my new one.

people have told me they can do it for me but i dont want them to be looking at my personal stuff such as income tax.

anybody have any step by step instruction?

thanks

Since your buddy's hard drive is currently in your machine and you have a working operating system running...

Try slaving in your broken HD and see if you can access it. If so... problem solved. If not, you're going to need additional software in order to pull information off of the corrupted hard drive.
