Confused new stang owner needs some help?

I just purchased my first mustang(first ford ever), a 2004 GT convertible,white/tan. I originally purchased it for my wife for a birthday/mothers day gift. Well that was before I ever drove it and well you know the rest.
I'm looking to do some upgrades and I was wondering how different the earlier models (03'02'01) and the cobras are compared to what I have. I mean things like the suspension, interior, under car componenets( tranny,exhaust, etc..) I see alot of magazine ads that will only be for cobras or will only fit up to an '02 GT. Like I said I'm new the mustang world and the Ford world. I know GM's mostly trucks.
any kind advice or a web site that breaks it down for me would be helpful. My experience tells me to ask the people who know these cars inside out...

Engine, exhaust, suspension mods intended for the Cobra generally do not work on the GT. There are no major changes from '02 to '04 so the parts you see for 02's should fit. Best thing to do is to find what you want then call before ordering. Hit some online sites as they generally are more up to date with what will fit your car.

The interior has been the same since 94 so most everything you find will fit.
