Hey everyone....i Have what i think is a 2001 Mustang GT BULLITT.....i say that because its a yellow car with the bullitt wheels...and the carfax came up as Mustang GT/Bullitt....yet i thought they only made green, black and blue bullitts for that year....it doesnt have the retro gauges either....what do you think?

One more thing....what should i do first....lol im stuck...its either A. Black cobra R Rims. B. Exhaust system or C. Ford racing Chip and tuner for a 40hp gain

Thank you....

Intake manifold would be way different on a bullitt. As for first mod... EXHAUST.

The same thing comes up for a Mach. They lump it in with the GT for '03-'04.

Thats how its grouped for the insurance rates as well. The yellow is a dead giveaway and all 01+ GT's could be bought with Bullitt wheels as well.

Definatley not a Bullit.

I would do the rims or exhaust. They are both great mods.

I will tell you right now there is NO chip or tuner that is going to give a stock GT 40 hp gain.

if you want to do a mod that makes you think you got about a 50HP gain do gears (4.10's) cant go wrong with them

I'd go for exhaust. Best money I've ever spent on my Mustang, grin-factor-wise.

The Bullitt/Torque Thrust D style wheels are very attractive, esp. with the car's other retro styling cues, so why replace? But the stock exhaust just doesn't do a pony car justice.

You could probably do exhaust + lowering springs for the price of new wheels...

My wife's 90GT says "1990 Ford Mustang Cobra/GT" on our insurance card. Its just the way they lump them together, because obviously there was no 90 cobra.

The GT's they shipped to Canada were called "Cobra GT" back then. When they made the '93 Cobra here, they quit calling them "Cobra GT" in Canada.

I 100% agree.I use to have a 1985 Mustang GT Cobra.I think it was Fords way of keeping the name around, and to keep the rights to it or something to that affect(even though it was used only on the Canadian Mustangs of that era)
2001GTTT,the color of your stang is the first give away it's not a Bullitt, then all the rest you mentioned just support the facts that it isn't a Bullitt.
I say gears would be the best bang for the bug to start with,or exhaust (h pipe, and cat back).

Mods you should do, in this order:
1. Exhaust
2. Shifter
3. Gears
4. SFC's
5. Rims/good tires
6. Blower

After all of that, do whatever...

Edit: Oh I forgot...Lower it! Do that one between the rims/tires and blower
