connecting rod install?

If you are looking at the motor from the front, you place the piston so the fly cut, if any, are facing the middle of the block. The same goes for the slots for the bearings. The rod caps go on so the slots are on the same side and they face in the center of the motor.

if this is a V8 then you need to install the pistons with the little notch facing the front of the engine, and the numbers on the rod facing the outside of the motor. also make sure that the numbers both on the rod and the cap are on the same side as well for proper rod cap alignment.

actually the bearings dont have notches, they do however have a chamfer on one side, and that chamfer must line up with the crank filet radius on the outside edge of the crankpin.
