I'm trying to connect my sub to my fuse box but I don't think ford has an accessory fuse. Me and a friend of mine searched for it but we couldn't find it. He said that I'm going to need a switch to turn it on and off (which is fine to me but it's extra work). Which fuse would I be able to connect to?

Thanks,
Max

do not connect to your fuse box, run a line for the amp from the battery with a inline fuse. and for the switching the (labeled rem on the amp) should be hooked to a switched 12 volt power (if you are using factory deck) or the remote (sometimes labeled remote lead, system lead, amp lead, or REM) lead on the deck (if you are using a aftermarket deck).

an easy to get a proper fuse size is to take your RMS power rating and devide it by 13.4, then round up.

example
500 (RMS power)
devided by
13.4 (average idle voltage)
equals
37.3

rounding up gives you a 40 amp fuse at least.

Not to cause problems but you should size your fuse to the wire you run from the battery to the amp. The amp should be fused somewhere on it for the amp. Hate to see someone run a 12 gauge wire and fuse it 50 amps or so. 1hotz is right about how much the amp will need so run a wire that will be big enough to handle the power you will be using

Never knew you could do that. I'll look into it. Thanks
