I am looking to get another car. And i want something quick. I have driven an SVT contour but never the focus. Which do you all feel is a better car. which one has more aftermarket products and which can you make faster easiest?
Not sure on most of it but I know they say the SVT Focus handles really well. I would consider one of those but if you mod it then the warranty aspect is null and void anyways so I guess it won't really matter much.
Personally I like them both from what I know of them. You can get a brand new SVT Focus for 16k from what I hear...wish I had the extra money but I don't right now.
My dad used to own a 98 SVT contour, man what a sweet engine those DOHC motors sure rev up nice. Although I was not impressed with the trans it felt a little weak. Since they quit making the contours I would go with the focus. An out of warranty contour could be costly! See how cramped the enigine compartment is? $900 to replace the motor mounts f-that! A guy was selling a silver SVT focus on ebay that had a vortech w/aftercooler installed. I think the HP was listed at 276, and he was selling it for around 15K. The way gas prices are I'm almost tempted to get one.
